Jamey Carter iMLB Baseball Weekly Editor-In-Chief Jamey has been involved in the iMLB since before Opening Day of the inaugural season. He has never had a World Series title in OOTP leagues, but was swept in the 2004 CDBL World Series while managing the Cleveland team (still does, league is now moving to 2008). |
| Mr.
Carter has extensive web development experience going back
as far as early 1994. Before that, he was editor-in-chief
of an underground newspaper in college and editor-in-chief
of his high school yearbook. He played soccer throughout HS, won the "James Varthene Award" (MVP) his senior year, and went on the play in college as well. He also ran track (triple jump as a short guy) and played varsity basketball (bench warmer) his senior year. In college he flirted with archery and curling (if you don't know what this is, ask him). Baseball has always been his spectator sport of passion. Although Jamey is a decent softball player in church and tavern leagues as well as backyard wiffleball, he never really played hardball, but has been watching since his uncle took him to the House That Ruth Built in 1982. The Red Sox vs. Mets world series in the mid eighties also captivated him (Daaarrrryl... Daaarrrryl). But seeing Jose Canseco at batting practice before a game at Triple-A Tacoma (then the Oakland affiliate Tacoma Tigers) turned Mr. Carter into baseball fan for life. His baseball moments include being in the Kingdome during an earthquake that ended the game, seeing Griffey make the catch in 1995 that broke his wrist, sitting in the Boneyard (behind Buhner) at the first Mariners playoff game ever played in Seattle, and seeing Rickey Henderson in a his first M's game come off the airplane and pinch run as soon as he got to the ballpark, only to go from first to home on an outfield single (amazing). |
